Heather’s passion for birth is so incredibly apparent; She truly goes above and beyond with her care. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we needed to move back to Michigan at seven months pregnant. Before we moved, Heather went out of her way to have several phone conversations with me about what it would look like to transfer to her care. I knew it would be a great fit as soon as we chatted the first time. During appointments, Heather spent time explaining things and fully answering all of our questions. I appreciated that she inquired about what my ideal birth would look like and she respected all of our decisions regarding prenatal, birth, and postnatal care. During labor, Heather brought such a calming presence and let me labor without disturbance. She continually redirected any of my negative thoughts with positive reassurance. Her expertise and calm demeanor gave me the confidence to fully trust the process. I couldn't have asked for a better birth experience and I'm so grateful for Heather and her assistant for helping to make my dream home birth happen. If you are looking for someone to bring expertise and compassion to your birth, you’ve found her.

I cannot recommend Heather enough, she is a truly amazing midwife! She made everything convenient; she came to me for prenatal and postpartum visits, no waiting hours at the doctor’s office! I started my pregnancy with another provider and became very dissatisfied with the treatment I received and the emphasis on fear and intervention I met with Heather and was convinced that a home birth was a much better choice for me. Heather was supportive and empowering during the entire process. She was so caring and nurturing throughout labor. She is knowledgeable about safety. As a first time mom, I was not sure what to expect, but she made me feel comfortable and calm. She also did placenta encapsulation with Chinese herbs for me, which provided a very speedy recovery. If you are even considering home birth or a doula, you need to meet Heather!

Heather was amazing! She was always very respectful of my wishes, wants and needs. I was never pressured into doing anything I didn’t want to do. She always asked my opinions and respected them. Heather delivered my very first baby in the comfort of my home! I highly recommend her! If I ever have anymore babies, she is the first person I’m calling!

I first talked to Heather when I lived in a different state and we were in the process of moving back to Michigan. She was very patient and chatted on the phone for over an hour going through any questions / concerns I had. After that I knew she was the midwife I wanted for my home birth and it was the best decision I made! Throughout my pregnancy and labor she was compassionate, kind, supportive, knowledgeable and had exceptional attention to detail. Her amazing care helped heal some emotional wounds I had from my previous miscarriage. Even my four year old loved when she would come over and include her in checking on her baby brother. I had the picture perfect birth but my favorite part about having a home birth was the postpartum care. Not only was the baby’s health important but so was mine. Heather was always there to answer any questions, support my family, and most importantly just listen to me talk. It’s evident that midwifery is Heather’s true passion. Those that choose her to be their midwife will not regret it!

Heather is more than qualified: she is educated, skilled and compassionate. She attended the births of my first two children as an apprentice and she attended the birth of my third as the primary care provider. She is quick to respond if you have any questions or concerns, has many resources in her lending library, is great when helping initiate breastfeeding and has a speedy return on her placenta encapsulation services. Having known her for over 7 years now, I also know she remains dedicated to your care, even in the event of a transfer. With nearly a decade of experience in home birth, a CPM and state license when Michigan issues them, there’s no one I would recommend more highly in service of the thumb and metro Detroit areas.

I hired Heather Lemanski to be the midwife for the pregnancy and birth of my sixth child in December 2016.

During the pregnancy Heather was extremely knowledgeable and insightful. She educated us on our options for our baby and never once let her opinion be known. Heather was always available via phone / text / email if I had questions or concerns. During my labor and delivery Heather respected my wishes for her to be as hands off as possible. She allowed me to labor in peace with the occasional check of the baby’s heart tones. She was always gentle and compassionate. When my daughter was born, she was struggling to breathe. Heather immediately reacted and began rescue breaths on Margaret. She was able to remain calm and take the necessary steps to ensure my daughter’s safety. In a situation that could’ve been extremely stressful, Heather was able to keep her composure and I was never once worried about the well being of my baby. I highly recommend Heather Lemanski! She takes great pride in her work and is very passionate about her role as a midwife.

If you need a midwife I would absolutely and 100% recommend Heather 100 times over. She is reassuring and confident with a wealth of knowledge.

After having a bad experience in the hospital with my first born, I immediately looked for another option as a second time mom. Heather made me feel extremely comfortable from our first appointment until our last. I had a fast and peaceful labor and delivery at home and it was a beautiful experience.
